Hughey Promotions (CHP) LLC was opened after Cheryl served on an regional Emmy-nominated
film project and had accumulated a wealth of audience stream building expertise
in membership development for an upscale chamber of commerce and as a jazz club
publicist promoting legends like the Yellowjackets, Jane Monheit, Ann Hampton
Callaway, Steve Tyrell, the Clayton Brothers, Russell Gunn, Rebirth Brass Band
and many more.
With
over a decade of writing and marketing experience, Cheryl’s diverse skill set
includes service as an indie label publicist, television associate producer,
radio promoter, news editor, newspaper journalist, bookings (Kevin
Mahogany) and nationally published
magazine writer.
Cheryl
Hughey Promotions has built a solid reputation by interweaving traditional press
like radio, print and television with the word-of-mouth pipeline for events
featuring pop acts like Kool & the Gang, Kenny G, James Ingram and Jody Watley,
along with a long list of indie CD releases around the globe including Darren
Rahn’s album, “Talk of the Town” (nuGroove Records), which was #1 on the
Billboard chart for three weeks in 2009.
In 2009, CHP expanded
its outreach to include business consulting beyond the scope of the
entertainment industry. It is Cheryl's desire to help teach other companies how
to achieve fiscal success affordably and creatively. Currently, she is
privately coaching small businesses in the areas of social media and Internet
branding.
“I love
helping dreams come true. It doesn't matter if you're a small business just
getting started or an artist hitting #1 on the Billboard charts…I want to help you
get to where you want to be," said Cheryl Hughey, Executive Director.
